45% of people in Northern Ireland do not identify as ‘unionist’ or ‘nationalist’. And of those who do, I wonder how many are ‘staunch’ in their position when presented with an option not rooted in fear, uncertainty and doubt.
Interesting. As you infer, the real figures are probably more like 15%, 15% and 70%.
The data there suggests that nearly half of Unionists are not strong unionists which, to the right party could bring the 45% up to 61%. And I’m going to assume that the nationalist vote is not filled with outright rebels.
