Mere days after I was passed a tidbit that iPhone in the UK was coming to the Orange and 3 networks, I spotted this.
which is taken directly from portal.beta.vodafone.com.
Note the wording:
“Available to all iPhone users including non-Vodafone customers.”
There might be more to think about this summer than just when to pick up the third generation iPhone. There’s also the network to consider.
Most of the 3g owners are locked in until Christmas but for those who retained their iPhone 1 contract (ending in May) this could be great news of lower pricing ?
Is there an iPhone hardware refresh in June ?
Apparently there is.
And “locked in” doesn’t mean much these days.
yeah, we were all locked in to version 1, and we all managed an upgrade.
I suspect even those on the new 24 month free iPhone tariff will get an upgrade path.
Although – as a provider – I have never been overly impressed with vodafone! as a Vodafone customer I have been only too happy to cancel my contract to go with O2 for the iphone after being BITTERLY disappointed with the B/Berry Storm.
But I suppose as a consumer – the iPhone/O2 deal doesn’t allow for much competition really…
