13 Coins was released yesterday. I’ve been following the development of this for several reasons, not least because I consider Martin and Greg to be friends, but also because Phil, Paul and I did something similar a few years ago (which Phil has made into a lovely little app dev company.
A static picture can’t do justice to the 13 Coins comic. What we did in Infurious was revolutionary then and was, by far, the best comic platform at the time. What Corinthian Publishing have done with 13 Coins is absolutely re-define the comic buying experience and the scale and scope of what can be done. It goes much further than just putting a comic onto the iPad, it’s about giving a real comics fan the sort of digital experience they’ve been wanting.
Hyperbole? Maybe a little – but I’ve got experience of this. And this is good stuff. I wonder if they’re interested in publishing Murderdrome?
Aw shucks Matt. Thanks for the shout out. We want to push “Deep Paper” our new digital comic platform as far as we can.
We have had an amazing response from the comic community and from VCs in New York and California. Which is all great news for what we are trying to achieve in NI.
New York Comic Con was extremely informative. All the big players in the comic space came over to see what and more importantly how we were doing it. The little NI mouse is beginning to roar.
The trip to San Francisco was facilitated by Belfast City Council who were tremendous throughout. We had access to the top VCs in Silicon Valley and the information and time we received was quality. All 20 companies involved in the trip came back enthused, enlightened and more importantly with live leads.
