Those guys aims are (I’m guessing) to produce a weekly webcomic to raise revenue so that they can finish an entire graphic novel. Comics have become a loss-leader for producing graphic novels, barely breaking even (in many cases), I suspect Warren is going a webcomic route as an alternative to that. In other words: the format is designed for print because it will be printed 🙂

So he’d never think of formatting for a “widescreen” comic size?
Oh he would (and has done: http://www.artbomb.net/comics/superidol.jsp) but I think he feels (and I’m guessing – no insider knowledge) that you format for one thing or the other and, since the webcomic is only an interem step to the published material he’s formatting for print.
