Fraser is absolutely right. What’s stopping you?

When I was being consulted on a funding programme recently, it was made clear that funding would not be available for capital (hardware and software) purchases. My response –

“Everyone already has a computer or access to one.”

So, to start your company, what do you need? Sound off in the comments!

To start my business required the following:-

1/ Come up with new idea
2/ Work evenings and weekends to develop idea
3/ Raise £25k in personal loan to start business
4/ Invest £25k in Hard Tool and prototypes
5/ Leave £35k job to devote full time to project
5/ Borrow further £15k in personal Loan
5/ Invest £3k in exhibition in London
6/ Invest further money in IT, Website, Promo, Samples
7/ Struggle on a daily basis to meet payments
8/ Hope for sales in next few months
9/ GET NO HELP WHATSOEVER FROM INVESTNI

Buy hey, who needs their help? I am now over £40k in debt and have no job – that’s my commitment to starting a business in NI….

… and I am sure when I am a success, they will be falling over themselves to ‘help’ me!
