No, I am *not* aware of Resolution Independence. When did they add THAT? That is KEY to proving Apple *will* do an iPod Touchbook or iPod Air.

Not surprising. How long have we been using bitmapped displays? And bitmap graphics for UI?

For. Ever.

It's not going to change overnight.

Resolution Independence is great in concept, but in reality many people stick rigitly to screen sizes in pixels.

You're aware of the Resolution Independence work Apple's been putting into Leopard (and aware that iPhone runs Leopard?)

Android will be just like Palm was, when the OS was licensed.

Palm: 160 x 160 screen
Sony: 320 x 320, then 320 x 480
Handera: 240 x 320 (still a WTF?!!)

Let people whiiiine about Steve Job's velvet Iron Fist. But it makes life easier for users *and* devs.

Of course, the rules will change in January if the iPod Air/iPod Touchbook/iPod WTF is announced with a new screen size!
