Well it seems like the tribe is almost formed so I guess a semi-permanent tent is the next step - maybe we should consider a yurt?

Bedouins have tribes and tents. And the odd goat.

And they visit oases.

Am I stretching the metaphor?

So, you're suggesting a 'Bedouin' group, perhaps with an established pattern of rotation, e.g.

Mondays - Charlies
Tuesdays - Blick Studios
Wednesdays - Cathedral Serviced Officers (for example)
Thursdays - Nightclub space during the day
Fridays - day off!

That way everyone involved would know where people were intending to be in order to take advantage of the advantages of co-working while still getting to avoid the costs of setup?

I'm a big fan of Bedouin working as well (gee, surprise surprise) though the advantages of Co-Working are not to be ignored. The stability of having a fixed base, the necessity for some businesses to store materials. Co-working is not about providing yet another serviced office space. It's about providing a shared office space.

It's like you said re: creative camp that sometimes good to come up with our own ideas rather than copying other people in the valley or where-ever. I think some place to meet or collaborate is good but does it need to be a big office space? What about we take over Charlies or use a night club space that's free during the day or move around different locations on a rotating basis? Sorry this is a bit of a stream of consciousness ramble...Or what about we start by sub-letting off Blick which is sooo cheap and we could get this off the ground now?

hi Mairin,

Are you saying that a physical space is not needed or that the physical space shouldn't be a compromise?

Totally agree about having a BIG vision just wondering if the physical space needs to be starting off?

Ah, but we didn't talk about letting shiftless dreamers in - more about using the rooms upstairs for people who were more in the know about what they wanted to do.
